EMPLOYMENT Bush Law Office 2/2002 – present Private Practice Attorney Opening his own law practice allowed Carl to independently focus on areas of the law that interest him. He has practiced in United States District Courts, as well as before the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, focusing on legal issues surrounding criminal defense, immigration, and employment discrimination. He has also successfully litigated criminal cases on behalf of various clients, obtaining acquittals or hung juries in cases where clients were faced with the prospect of spending virtually the rest of their lives in prison. Among such clients have been foreign nationals, for whom a criminal conviction can mean removal from the U.S. Often, criminal behavior will have immigration consequences, as the two fields of practice are critically interrelated.
